What is ILLIAD?
ILLIAD is database used by libraries to streamline their inter-library loan/document delivery services. ILLIAD consists of borrowing and lending functions designed to meet the inter-library loan needs of patrons worldwide.
History of ILLIAD
ILLIAD was created in 1997 by Harry Kriz at Virginia Tech in response to the need for a more streamlined approach to inter-library loan processes. According to Atlas Systems, Inc., ILLIAD "...is the only ILL product created as a result of ILL staff review of the entire ILL operation."
